We at HELPING HANDS INTERNATIONAL
PERSONNEL NANNIES AND CAREGIVERS AGENCY will
do all the paper work associated with the application procedure to
the Canadian Government for the live-in caregiver program. This includes
proof of advertisement and collecting resumes of local caregivers
before attempting to hire abroad.
Once all
the documents needed in hiring a live-in caregiver is completed, they
will be sent to Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC).
It usually takes about 8 weeks to receive a Validation of Offer
of Employment from HRSDC. Once the Employer's Offer of Employment
has been validated by the HRSDC, the employer will receive a copy
of it in the mail. The confirmation letter together with the employer
/ employee contract shall be sent to the caregiver abroad by our agency.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is responsible for deciding
whether or not a foreign Caregiver is eligible to come to Canada under
the Live-in Caregiver Program.
The caregiver will be asked to undergo a medical check up with the
accredited clinic of the Canadian Embassy. The caregiver will also
be required to get a Police Clearance from the country where he /
she is residing / working.
The processing of the appropriate paperwork can take several months,
so plan ahead and be patient for we cannot speed up the time
it takes the government to process paper work. They have their own
time frame.
